UNDERPASS (2018)

Originally built with the intention of becoming a community space within downtown Toronto, Underpass Park is, let’s say, still working on it. Upon visiting the site, the lack of human occupation is immediately evident. Safe for a few skateboarders and the occasional photographer, this isolated space beneath the highway is empty, simply just existing. What is apparent however, is the presence of graffiti. Rather than vandalism, this art seems to occupy the space with its own presence. The focus of this video project was therefore to provide the graffiti with the very life that seems to emanate from it.
